Embargo is the controlled manner (process) in which contracted services are limited under certain specific conditions. Coordinate with Legal, Regulatory, and the State Commission of Pending Embargo & Embargo Wholesale Customer. After the collections process occurs and the delinquent wholesale customer continues to not pay, the wholesale billing manager communicates with legal and regulatory and proceeds with the embargo. The state commission is notified and the wholesale customer is sent an embargo warning letter. If they decide to pay they can make a payment in full, a partial payment, or send bankruptcy information. Not all embargos are related to collections and bankruptcy. Example during Christmas Period, new network service installations are not performed by most carriers. Another trigger for a embargo is a specific holiday period (i.e. Christmas) , where the service levels are reduced considerably. Provisioning and Installation procedures will continue to be handled in a business as usual manner until the Embargo begins. During the Embargo, only orders meeting the specific criteria for an Emergency Order will be provisioned.
