Category: (5) eTOM Process Type

Process Identifier: 1.6.12.1.7.7

Original Process Identifier:

Maturity Level: 3

Description

Process that remunerate content partners in form or part, which delivers a value add (extension to standard retail products) to many types of content.

Extended Description

Process that remunerate content partners in form or part, extension to standard retail products to many types of content. Content Partners differentiates itself from other 3rd Party Billing in that it has a much fine granular product service offering, often short lived and constantly changing offerings. Due to this variance, there are major impacts from a revenue treatment perspective, i.e. rating is generally performed outside, but with tax categories handled either as brutto or netto. The end-customer charges are handled under retail billing in another eTOM domain. Supports different types of business model agreements i.e. including revenue sharing, sponsorship, white label and also various rating schemes, minimum commitments and discounts. Specific mention must be given to the process of settlement and reconciliation for intellectual property and royalties – from invoicing through to payment tracking and resolving disputes. Definition and relation of local product to content partner, Requires touch points to I2L (product definition, configuration, cataloging), O2C (ordering from content sub catalogue), U2P (i.e. validity of usage time/(DRM) pricing & bundling). Ie a specific title of a music group is not maintained in the local product catalogue repository, but rather categories or cost relative deviation from categories by way of attributes (i.e. TOP 10 song may cost 10% more expensive than other songs of the same artist in the same album) if purchased independently.
